A former employee of a cross-border trucking services company, charged by the ICAC, admitted at the West Kowloon Magistracy today (October 22) that he had defrauded the company of service payments totalling $6,200 by inflating parking fees on delivery notes submitted by a subcontractor.

The ICAC Regional Office (Hong Kong East), currently located at Hennessy Road, Wanchai, will be relocated to Unit 3, G/F, East Town Building, 16 Fenwick Street, Wanchai starting from next Monday (October 28).

A buyer of a second-hand harp, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 15) sentenced at the West Kowloon Magistracy for impersonating an officer of the Customs and Excise Department (C&E) and blackmailing the vendor over the provision of a harp tuning key during the purchase of the musical instrument.

A former administration officer of a secondary school, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 10) sentenced to 24 months’ imprisonment at the District Court after being convicted of appropriating payments from students in relation to study trips and other miscellaneous fees totalling over $310,000.

A Police Constable, charged by the ICAC, was today (October 9) sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment at the West Kowloon Magistracy after admitting that he had defrauded a woman of 20 loans totalling $95,500 and a luxury watch worth over $62,000 by making false representations.

Two volunteers of a resident association in Sham Shui Po have been charged by the ICAC today (October 8) for their alleged roles in offering “lucky bags” to induce fellow residents to vote for a particular candidate at the 2018 Legislative Council (LegCo) By-election, while two fellow residents were charged for allegedly agreeing to accept the “lucky bags” for voting for the candidate.

The ICAC has kicked off a series of multi-faceted education and publicity initiatives to remind candidates, election helpers and electors to abide by the law and uphold a clean and fair District Council (DC) Election.
