The ICAC has arrested 72 persons for allegedly engaging in corrupt conduct of vote-rigging in the Information Technology Functional Constituency (ITFC) of the 2016 Legislative Council (LegCo) Election.

A former associate director of a foreign investment bank has been charged by the ICAC today (March 29) with conspiracy for him to accept bribes of about $1.5 million in total for managing the investment portfolio of a client with the bank.

A consultant of a business brokerage firm appeared in the Eastern Magistracy today (March 27) after being charged by the ICAC with fraud by inducing a client to acquire a learning centre at $540,000, which was purported to be the lowest price accepted by the seller.

Two managers of an engineering company appeared in the Kowloon City Magistracy today (March 23) after being charged by the ICAC with conspiracy to use bogus quotations to secure over $470,000 worth of mandatory building inspection and necessary repair works at an industrial building.

A former counter officer of a travel agency appeared in the Eastern Magistracy today (March 22) after being charged by the ICAC with soliciting an illegal rebate of $5,100 from his subordinate in relation to referral of bookings of travel products and services.

A woman, charged by the ICAC, was today (March 22) sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment at the Fanling Magistracy for having offered bribes to officers of the Immigration Department (ImmD) for granting permission to her to enter Hong Kong.

The proprietor of an air-condition engineering company has been charged by the ICAC today (March 20) with conspiracy for a then assistant project manager of another engineering firm to accept an illegal rebate of about $200,000 for recommending air-condition piping works of a commercial complex to the air-condition engineering company.

A former salesman of an electronic products company, charged by the ICAC, was today (March 14) convicted at the Kowloon City Magistracy of offering a bribe of around $800 to $1,000 to an employee of the company to help him get refund for each defective or damaged smart phone.
