Twelve former laboratory staff of a contractor of the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), charged by the ICAC, were today (November 20) convicted of producing false records on concrete compression tests for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Project.

A former part-time chef of a lunchbox supplier for local schools, charged by the ICAC, admitted at the Shatin Magistracy today (November 20) that he had conspired with a head chef to defraud the company of wages totalling about $7,000 by falsifying his attendance record.

A man was today (November 18) sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment at the West Kowloon Magistracy after being convicted of bribing the chairlady of the incorporated owners (IO) of a residential building for securing a renovation project.

A then branch service associate of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), charged by the ICAC, admitted at the Eastern Magistracy today (November 15) that he had solicited and accepted $2,000 in total from a job applicant for securing a branch service associate post.

A then property manager of a private residential estate, charged by the ICAC, was today (November 15) sentenced at the Eastern Magistracy for defrauding the Incorporated Owners (IO) of the estate of salaries and bonus totalling about $8,500 by falsifying the attendance records of two security guards.

A then branch service associate of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has been charged by the ICAC today (November 13) with soliciting and accepting $2,000 in total from a job applicant for securing a branch service associate post.

A former employee of a cross-border trucking services company, charged by the ICAC, was today (November 12) sentenced at the West Kowloon Magistracy for defrauding the company of service payments totalling $6,200 by inflating parking fees on delivery notes submitted by a subcontractor.

In response to media enquiries, an ICAC spokesperson today (November 11) confirmed that a total of 21 persons, including two assistant trainers and four stable staff of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), were arrested for suspected corruption in relation to the provision of privileged information to facilitate illegal bookmaking and control of race horses.

A Recognizance Form holder has been charged by the ICAC today (November 8) with bribery and fraud for taking up a job as a security guard in the name of another person who was an identity card holder.

Four then employees of a management services contractor of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD), charged by the ICAC, were today (November 7) sentenced at the Eastern Magistracy for their roles in a conspiracy to use a false employment proof to support the promotion of an employee despite his insufficient working experience.
