A law student of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) was today (Monday) sentenced at the District Court for forging examination result slips and using them to deceive the university.

A cruise company director was today (Wednesday) charged by the ICAC for allegedly accepting bribes totalling about $1 million from operators of three transportation companies for awarding business to the latter.

The ICAC has arrested 27 persons, including a regional manager of a chained hot pot restaurant, as well as 14 chefs and employees of nine other restaurants, for allegedly accepting advantages from various food suppliers for placing purchasing orders and c onniving at the poor quality of goods supplied.

A frozen meat supplier today (Monday) admitted at the District Court that he had offered bribes totalling over $530,000 to purchasing officers or chefs of five hotels, three restaurants and a yacht club for obtaining purchase orders or silencing them from complaining the quality of foods provided by his company.

In response to press enquiries, an ICAC spokesman today (Friday) confirmed that nine persons were arrested yesterday for alleged bribery in relation to poultry supplies to restaurants.
