The ICAC respects the Court of Appeal's (the Court) judgment handed down this morning, which considered that the ICAC had "acted entirely lawfully in seeking the search warrants" and that the issuing of the search warrants was "entirely justified".

The ICAC has arrested 14 persons, including 10 senior and supervisory staff of a cleaning and pest control company, for their respective roles in alleged bribery to assist cleaning workers in securing continuous employment, and suspected fraud in relation to the subcontracting of cleaning contracts of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD).

A member of the Shatin District Council was yesterday (Thursday) arrested by the ICAC for accepting an alleged bribe from an operator of a transportation company in relation to shuttle bus service at a residential estate in Ma On Shan.

A former senior executive of the then China and South Sea Bank Limited was today (Monday) sentenced to seven months' imprisonment at District Court for accepting a $380,000 loan from a director of a company in relation to the company's credit arrangement with the bank.

The ICAC has arrested 17 persons, including six staff members of the Water Supplies Department (WSD), for alleged bribery in relation to applications for water meters at residential and commercial buildings.
