A Senior Police Constable, who tried to swindle money out of a stall operator by fabricating a fund raising exercise for a Police football team, was found guilty of deception at Kwun Tong Court today (Friday).

A Police Constable admitted at San Po Kong Court today (Thursday) that he had solicited $50,000 and accepted $19,000 in bribes from a female suspect in a drug case for helping her get a lighter sentence in case of a conviction.

A Police Constable, who allegedly accepted bribes totalling $29,000 from a female suspect in a drug case for altering his statement in relation to the investigation, was caught red-handed by the ICAC yesterday (Tuesday).

With the start of nominations for the Election Committee subsector elections for the Hong Kong SAR's second Legislative Council polls tomorrow, the ICAC will step up publicity for the new election law and related guidelines to ensure that the elections will be conducted in a clean and fair manner.
