Three more persons have been charged today (Wednesday) by the ICAC for their alleged involvement in bribery scams in relation to food supplies to hotels and restaurants, following the prosecution of 11 others earlier this year.

An Officer of the Correctional Services Department (CSD), charged by the ICAC, was today (Friday) sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for soliciting and accepting advantages from a prisoner for helping the latter apply for early release under the Prisoners (Release Under Supervision) Ordinance (the Ordinance).

A former supervisor of a chain supermarket, charged by the ICAC, was today (Monday) sentenced to five months’ imprisonment at Kwun Tong Magistracy for accepting free trips to Macao and night-club entertainment from a meat concessionaire.

A postgraduate student of the City University of Hong Kong (City U), charged by the ICAC, was today (Thursday) sentenced to six months' imprisonment for offering a $10,000 bribe to an associate professor of City U for obtaining questions and answers of a mathematics examination.

A director of a renovation contractor was today (Wednesday) charged by the ICAC for alleged bribery in obtaining renovation contracts of the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIE) and a bank.
